About Department
The Ministry of Skill Development and entrepreneurship aims to skill people on a large scale with speed and high standards of training in order to achieve its vision of a skilled India. By providing the required skills and vocational training, a skilled nation can be achieved.
Achievements and Recognition
- Established RAC Lab in collaboration with Godrej under the Disha Project.
- Conducted Capacity Building Programmed DECT & ITI sta of Meghalaya Government (ADB assisted).
- Provided Technical Support for the Restructuring & Upgradation of ITIs in Meghalaya Government (Supporting Human Capital Development in Meghalaya (ADB sponsored).
- Executed Institutional Improvement Strategic Plans for 25 Priority Industrial Training Institutes in Uttarakhand, a World Bank Sponsored Project, in joint venture with E&Y.
- Successfully completed Consultancy work at Dhauliganga Hydo-Power, PLC Base Forging machine station at Wessman, Various Educational Showcase systems at Jal Tarang (M.P. Tourism), and Turbine Testing Drive in MANIT.
- Executed Skill training projects for Central Government Dept., State Government Dept., PSUs (under CSR) & development organizations.
The PSUs for which we support in successful implemented of CSR projects are - Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), POWER FINANCE CORPORATION, (PFC) New Delhi, Engineers India Limited (EIL), Rural Electrification Corporation (REC), Indian Oil Ltd. (IOL), Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd. (BORL) and TATA STEEL, Jamshedpur
- Established RAC Lab in collaboration with Godrej under the Disha Project.
- Developed instructional Material for ITIs and MES courses in the areas of PLC & Automation, Electrical Maintenance Automation, Automation & PLC, Electrical Maintenance, Embedded System and PLC, and Automobile Electronics, for National Instructional Media Institute (NIMI), Chennai.
- Trained more than 150 candidates in Ethiopia.
- Over 80 engineers have been trained to become master trainers at HZL Rajasthan in the Electrical & Instrumentation field under Rubaru Project.
- Trained 14 Engineers in Advanced Automation from KONKOLA COPPER MINES (Vedanta group) Zambia.
- Conducted Skill Development Program for 100 candidates on “Audio System & Television Repair and “Electrical Wiring & Motor Winding”, under the VOTEG project sponsored by UNDP.
- Conducted Training program on Electrical Control, MATLAB, Industrial Drives, Solar PV installer, PLC Programming and Application Transformer & Switchgear Maintenance, Field Instrumentation & control And Electronics Maintenance for INDIAN COAST GUARD, INDIAN NAVY, NAVAL DOCKYARDS, SHIP BUILDING CENTRE, DRDO and ORDANCE FACTORIES, and trained more than 500 Defence sta of all levels
